Today will be another day with highs above normal. It will get just shy of 80 degrees. In Pittsburgh, morning lows dropped to the upper 40s. In some places, the morning lows dropped to the mid-40s.
There will be light winds from the southeast. The skies might be cloudy for an hour or two after dawn. The rest of the day will be mostly sunny. It will already be in the low 70s at noon.
I think the high temperature in Pittsburgh will be 78°. The highs on Thursday will get into the 80s, making it even hotter than today. It’s going to be almost 20 degrees warmer than usual today.
On Friday, it’s likely to rain again in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Since it’s going to rain all day, the chances of bad weather staying away should be very low. You might get about an inch of rain on Friday. Most of it will fall in the late afternoon and evening.
It should get up to the low 70s on Friday, which is still warmer than usual for this time of year.
The weekend is when the weather will get back to normal. The high point for Saturday should be in the low 60s, and that could happen at midnight. The high on Sunday will be around 60 degrees. Both days will have lows in the 40s.
I like to write blog posts every once in a while to remind people of what our “normal” weather is like at that time of the year. The average high temperature for today in the last 30 years is 66°. The average low temperature for the last thirty years, from 1990 to 2020, is 44° today.
At this point, it will have been warmer than usual for six days in a row. So far this month has been strange; half of our days have been mild. Still, our monthly average temperature is almost 2 degrees higher than usual.
