This weekend is predicted to be moderate and springlike for residents of East Los Angeles, with intermittent fog and drizzle persisting through Sunday and Monday early. Morning commutes are predicted to be impacted by light showers and poor visibility, especially in low-lying areas, while temperatures stay in the low 70s. The skies will start to clear by Monday afternoon, providing some respite from the rainy weather.
Until Monday morning, the area will see patchy fog and rain with light winds of about 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The daytime high of 71°F will offer a little reprieve from the chilly springtime weather. There will be more sunshine later in the day when the weather progressively clears in the afternoon.
Looking ahead, Monday night will see mostly clear skies to begin the week, but Tuesday morning will see the return of patchy fog, which will be followed by brighter sunlight all day. It is expected to remain mild with highs of 73°F on Monday and a modest tendency toward 68°F by Wednesday, so residents should be ready for this.
Drivers should use caution on the roads when the weather changes, especially in the early morning when fog is likely to make it harder to see. To keep yourself safe, drive with your headlights on and slow down.
The extended forecast is for highs in the upper 60s on Tuesday and largely clear skies by Wednesday. Throughout the week, lows will stay in the low 50s, and by Thursday and Friday, the temperature will progressively rise into the high 60s.
By Monday afternoon, East Los Angeles will be free of fog, making traffic and outdoor activities safer. Be ready for the changes in the weather that come with spring.
