Man Pulls Knife on Subway Staff During Heated Altercation

A man named Edward Cocaine is not charged with drug use, but following a fight at a Florida Subway restaurant, he allegedly waved a knife at staff members.

On Facebook, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey shared information regarding the April 5 incident.

“This guy, Edward Cocaine (yep, that is his real name), obviously doesn’t realise that if you mess up in Brevard County, you’re going to find out—the hard way! Ivey penned.

According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, Cocaine, 45, and a friend went to the Merritt Island Subway and thought that the staff was treating him rudely. Cocaine apparently wanted to confront the perceived disrespect, but the friend wanted to go.

According to the complaint, the defendant pushed past one employee after entering the employee area behind the counter and brandished a knife as though he were going to attack someone.

Ivey said, “Yes people, you read that right, he took out a knife and made a gesture as though he was going to hurt them all because he didn’t like the way they spoke to him and his friend!”

According to police, Cocaine was restrained by a buddy, and the two departed the restaurant. Police were able to identify Cocaine’s friend’s truck by using CCTV footage. When the friend identified Cocaine as the culprit, deputies proceeded to talk to him.

Cocaine claims that he was the person in the surveillance footage, and although his recollection of the event seemed to differ slightly from what the agents looked at, he did admit that drawing a knife went beyond what was proper conduct! That, in my opinion, went well too far and did stupid things that endangered the lives of others!” Ivey said.

The suspect is charged with two counts of burglary with assault and battery and aggravated assault. Since then, he has posted a bail of $17,000. May 6 is the date of his upcoming court appearance.
