NY Braces for a Bone-Chilling Weekend with Up to 5 Inches of Snow

Meteorologists announced on Friday that New York City is anticipated to receive between three and five inches of snow over the weekend, or a combination of slush and sleet, while under an official winter storm watch.

According to FOX Weather Meteorologist Stephanie van Oppen, the strong storm is expected to come from the Great Lakes and hit the city on Saturday night and Sunday morning, provided that the temperatures stay below freezing.

She told The Post, “In any case, we are going to experience some sort of wet, heavy snow or sleet.” “Drivers are worried that anything that doesn’t get cleared could refreeze on Sunday night.”

As temperatures drop to extremely low levels, the northern parts of the city, including the Bronx and Upper Manhattan, are predicted to receive the heaviest snowfall.

According to van Oppen, temperatures will drop to a chilly low of 30 degrees on Saturday and 23 degrees on Sunday throughout the city.

The brunt of the storm is forecast to pass by midday on Sunday, but there is a chance that the wintery mix will refreeze Sunday night, which would create treacherous road conditions for commuters on Monday morning.

Van Oppen stated that there is a possibility of additional snow and ice over the week.
