A mother in Indiana is facing charges for two separate fights involving women who were romantically involved with her exes. One of the arrests took place just last week after she attacked a mother who had a child with the father of her child. She allegedly threw her baby into a shopping cart and called her baby “ugly.” The incident occurred after the two women “happened to see each other” at a Walmart, according to the police.
According to court documents that were obtained by Law&Crime, Shamesha Hendrix, who is 36 years old and lives in Muncie, is currently facing two separate criminal cases. These instances include a pair of women who were romantically associated with males with whom Hendrix had previously had connections. In connection with the incident that occurred at Walmart on January 17, Hendrix was taken into custody on February 15 and immediately charged with a preliminary felony charge of battery on a minor under the age of 14. According to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office, the other alleged attack took place at a Family Dollar in the month of October in the year 2024.
The affidavits of arrest from both occurrences detail how Hendrix came into contact with the female victims in public and then proceeded to assault them. According to the Muncie Police Department, Hendrix even threatened to “pop” one of the victims before finally attacking her.
Authorities stated the following in order to provide a description of the mother and child who were allegedly targeted in the event that occurred one month ago: “She and Ms. Hendrix both have children from the same father.” The fact that they ran into each other at Walmart coincided with the fact that Ms. Hendrix has been causing her troubles previously. The statement made by Ms. Turner was that Ms. Hendrix had called her a b—— and that she was going to beat her behind.
The incident is said to have taken place in the parking lot of the Walmart in Muncie, Indiana. Hendrix is said to have exited her vehicle and approached the victim while she was pushing a shopping cart that featured a “baby seat” inside. The victim was carrying her child at the time.
It was reported by the police that “Ms. Hendrix grabbed the shopping cart and said she wanted to see [the victim’s] ugly baby.” As she did so, Ms. Hendrix took up the infant seat. Ms. Hendrix threw the baby seat back into the shopping cart when Ms. Turner attempted to grab it. Ms. Turner was unsuccessful.
Despite the fact that her daughter was buckled in and did not come out of the baby seat, the woman stated that her daughter had landed on her side. A call was placed to the emergency medical services, and they arrived at the store to check on the girl, who, according to her mother, “appeared to be fine.” Emergency medical services (EMS) offered to take the infant to the hospital; however, the mother declined, and a complaint was filed.
It is believed that Hendrix ran away from the Walmart in Muncie, and he was not found by the police when they got at the site. As a result of the preliminary battery charge, she was brought into custody after being detained on the previous Saturday, February 15th. We informed on Tuesday by the prosecutor, Eric Hoffman, that his office was conducting an investigation into the situation in order to file formal charges.
Following Hendrix’s other arrest, which took place in October of last year, he was charged with a misdemeanor for battery that resulted in bodily injury. According to the affidavit detailing her arrest, she is accused of touching the victim “knowingly or intentionally” in a manner that was “rude, insolent, or angry,” which resulted in the victim sustaining physical injury. According to the affidavit, when law enforcement officials arrived at the scene of the crime on that particular day, they saw the victim standing in the parking lot of the Family Dollar store, “pulling loose hair from her head” after being assaulted by Hendrix.
It was claimed by the police that “[the victim] informed Shamesha and her that they have dated the same guy.” This individual is still dating or in a relationship with [the victim]. Apparently, [the victim] informed her that she and Shamesha have been exchanging messages on Facebook messaging. [The victim] stated that she went to Family Dollar to purchase some items and made the observation that Shamesha was present in the store with her daughter.
The affidavit states that Hendrix and her daughter both assaulted the woman after Hendrix accosted her in the store. His daughter was also involved in the assault. It was reported by the police that Shamesha approached her and made a statement to the effect that she ought to bust her right here. Shamesha then approached the victim and began tugging her hair, as the victim had previously advised Shamesha.
Hendrix’s daughter is said to have “slapped her in the face” and “trying to pull her out of the car” after the victim fled into the parking lot and got into a vehicle. The victim then fled into the parking lot.
“[The victim] informed the police that both Shamesha and [her daughter] were basically inside the driver door of her car trying to pull her out by grabbing her,” the police added.
On Tuesday, Hoffman said in an interview with Law & Crime that Hendrix has been legally charged for the event that occurred at Family Dollar, and that her case is still pending.
