This is EL PASO, Texas. According to a statement released by the El Paso District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday, February 18, a jury in El Paso has found a man guilty of two charges of indecency with a minor and has sentenced him to three years in state prison.
In accordance with the District Attorney’s Office, Bryan Armendariz, who is 22 years old, was found guilty of touching a female relative’s breasts and genital area above her garments.
In the year 2021, the victim disclosed the incident of touching to her family, and the family then informed the El Paso Police Department about the incident.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, the victim was younger than 17 years old at the time of the touching.
On Monday, February 10, the trial made its debut in the 346th District Court, with Judge Patricia Baca serving as the presiding judge.
After reaching a verdict of guilty, the same jury also decided that Armendariz should serve a sentence of three years in jail.
Because it is impossible to fully grasp how difficult it is for a young child to report that someone they trust has inappropriately touched him or her, it is impossible to fully understand how difficult it is for a victim to report the incident. Jesse Mende and Elena Esparza, both of whom are Assistant District Attorneys, headed the prosecution of the case.
