The Georgia Bureau of Investigation stated that it is looking into a shooting in Paulding County that involved a police officer.
On Sunday at 1:14 p.m., police in Hiram said that someone shot someone at the Columns Apartments on Bill Carruth Parkway.
Police in Hiram were called to a call of a woman stabbing a guy with a knife, according to the authorities.
Officials say the woman had a knife on her when Hiram police came.
The police tried to use a Taser, but the department said it didn’t work. The woman then walked toward the police officers with the knife, and the police shot the woman.
The police helped the woman and man right away.
The man died at the scene of the crime from his wounds.
The suspect, a woman, was taken to the hospital, but death was declared there. The woman and the man were both identified but not their ages.
According to HPD, no cops were hurt.
The Hiram Police Department and the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to look into the killing.
The sheriff’s office is helping the cops in Hiram.
The officers will be put on regular, paid administrative leave while the probe goes on.
