Las Vegas – Two people were hospitalized in a multi-vehicle incident after police said one of the drivers failed to cede the right of way at an intersection in southwest Las Vegas.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, the four-vehicle incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday at the junction of Harmon Avenue and Jones Boulevard.
Evidence at the scene, witness accounts, and camera film revealed that a 2018 Lexus and a 2010 Scion TC were approaching the intersection from the south on Jones Boulevard.
According to authorities, the driver of a 2000 Nissan Frontier refused to yield to a flashing yellow arrow, causing a collision with the Lexus and Scion. Following the collision, the Nissan was steered into a 2003 Jeep Wrangler that was stopped in the left turn lane from eastbound Harmon to northbound Jones Boulevard.
The drivers of the Nissan and Scion were brought to the hospital after trauma experts evaluated their injuries to be critical/serious. The other two drivers remained on the site, with no reported injuries. Officers stated that they found no indicators of impairment during the preliminary inquiry.
The Collision Investigation Section of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash.
