Generous Donation: Pechanga Tribe Contributes $500K to Help Los Angeles Fire Survivors

Generous Donation Pechanga Tribe Contributes $500K to Help Los Angeles Fire Survivors

According to an announcement made by the Pechanga Tribe of Southern California on Saturday, the tribe has committed to provide a gift of $500,000 to aid those who have been affected by the recent Palisades and Eaton Fires, which have ravaged an area of Los Angeles.

The donation, which was given in collaboration with the Los Angeles Rams Foundation, will be used to benefit three important organizations that are giving essential assistance during this difficult time.

These organizations are the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Foundation, the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region, and World Central Kitchen.

Furthermore, Pechanga is providing an additional two hundred and fifty thousand dollars directly to the American Red Cross in order to significantly strengthen relief efforts for people who have been harmed by the flames.

“From ancient times to now, Southern California has always been and will always be our home,” Mark Macarro, Pechanga Tribal chairman stated. “The loss and devastation that continues to take its toll on our region from these catastrophic fires is heartbreaking. Our reservation has been impacted by fires in the past and we know the importance of coming together to lift up people in need.”

The Pechanga Tribe has been actively engaged on the ground in addition to the monetary contributions that they have made. As of the seventh of January, the Pechanga Fire Department has been providing assistance in the fight against the fires by deploying personnel, equipment, and resources.

In the meantime, the Pechanga Resort Casino has been providing residents who are without electricity as a result of the ongoing fires and Santa Ana winds with cheap lodgings.

Pechanga has a long-standing practice of providing assistance to their community in times of crisis, and this donation is part of that heritage.

A fast-moving fire that scorched property close to the tribe’s reservation in the past received support from the tribe, and now the tribe is giving that support back to the people who live nearby.

More than two hundred employees of the American Red Cross are presently providing crucial services to thousands of people in Southern California who have been displaced as a result of the fires.

These services include giving shelter, food, and assistance in locating individuals who have gone missing.

The donation made by the Pechanga Tribe, in conjunction with the Rams Foundation, will help to ensuring that these critical efforts continue, thereby providing much-needed aid to individuals who have been affected by the flames.
