Local authorities in West Hills, California, were conducting an investigation on Tuesday into two separate fires that occurred in the vicinity of the UCLA West Valley Medical Center.
At approximately 6:15 in the morning, the first incident was reported to have occurred in the 7300 block of Woodlake Avenue, which is situated in close proximity to a number of medical facilities and is less than half a mile away from the UCLA Medical Center.
It took around five minutes for the firemen to put out the fire after the Los Angeles Fire Department dispatched one truck to the location. The firefighters were able to do this because they responded fast.
Nevertheless, a second fire was reported occurring in the same general region just fifteen minutes after the first one.
According to the information provided by the caller, the authorities were informed that they had seen someone starting the fire.
An arson team was sent to the location to examine the potential cause of the fires, which prompted suspicions of arson owing to the time and proximity of the two events.
Firefighters later returned to the scene to investigate the probable cause of the fires.
Several people were seen standing around a flaming pile of debris in video footage that was uploaded to Citizen. This occurred as firefighters approached a bus stop that was located close.
Thankfully, there were no reports of injuries that were immediately associated with either of the fires. In the midst of the fires, a red flag warning was issued in the region.
This warning was issued because of the dangerous fire conditions and strong winds that were present, which provided an increased potential for additional events.
