Northeast Passage is invited to participate in PE courses at Marston School.

Recently, children at Marston Elementary School took part in Northeast Passage’s Similarity Awareness program. The purpose of the program is to educate students about disabilities and to help create a culture of inclusivity.

Representatives from Northeast Passage, a nonprofit organization that focuses on education and awareness, guided students in activities and talks during the week of January 6. These activities and discussions allowed students to examine the connections that people share, regardless of their abilities.

While in wheelchairs, students took part in games like handball and “taco tag.”

Through these exercises, kids were able to experience the challenges of using a wheelchair, but they also learned that it can be enjoyable and competitive with ability and practice.
