Capital Murder Charge Filed Against Crockett Man in 2024 Incident

This is CROCKETT, Texas– After the death of a guy who was 78 years old in the previous year, a man from Crockett who is 64 years old has been charged with capital murder in connection with the incident. An indictment was handed down by a Houston County Grand Jury, which led to the filing of the case against Robert Lee Steveson, as stated in a press statement issued by the Crockett Police Department.

In addition to being known by his given name, Robert Lee Stevenson, Steveson has been detained at the Houston County Jail since June 5, 2024. He is being held there on allegations of unauthorized possession of a firearm by a felon as well as a parole hold. Twenty-five thousand dollars has been established as his bail on the charge of capital murder.

The Crockett Police Department has said that they will not be releasing any additional information at this time due to the sensitive nature of the case currently being investigated. The presumption of innocence applies to every suspect until their guilt is established in a court of law.
