Boy’s Handwritten Plea Reveals He Was Hurt by Dad’s Girlfriend

One of the kids left behind a Post-it note that said, “Please help us.” This led to accusations that the woman in Florida abused her boyfriend’s children.

Kathrina Carrillo, 25, paid bail after being taken to the Miami Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Wednesday. The children said she abused them, so the judge told her to stay away from them, according to court records. A local ABC affiliate, WPLG, got police records that said

An ABC affiliate in the area got a copy of police reports that said the investigation into Carrillo began in March when her boyfriend’s 9-year-old son left behind a pink Post-it note pleading for assistance.

Though WPLG said the note was left on March 4, it wasn’t clear where it was left or who read it first. Someone did call the Florida Department of Children and Families, though, and they helped get the boy and his brother away from Carrillo, according to WPLG.

The police report said that the 9-year-old boy who wrote the note talked to forensic analysts. The boy said that Carrillo hit him, pinned him to the ground, and then tried to suffocate him by putting a blanket over his face and a pillow over it. It was said that the boy told the reporter that he felt like he “was not breathing.”

When police met with Carrillo at the headquarters of the Miami Police Department, she allegedly denied the charges. The report says she told the police that she only punishes her own kids and not her boyfriend’s.

Carillo was arrested and charged with illegal child abuse, even though she denied the charges. Carrillo paid $5,000 in bail the same day and was let out of jail. She went to court on Thursday and was told to stay away from the kids her boyfriend has with other women.

Carrillo hired a lawyer to help her, but her next court date was not given to her.
