Authorities Investigating Animal Cruelty After 15 Dead Cats Found in Ingham County

Following the discovery of 15 dead cats at a home on Denver Avenue, Ingham County authorities are investigating criminal charges, according to local officials.

Following the execution of a search order at the residence by Ingham County Animal Control officials, the finding was made on Friday morning. Following a complaint about the filthy living circumstances of multiple animals at the house, the warrant was issued.

When the authorities learned that the animals were living in appalling conditions, they became worried for their wellbeing.

Animal Control authorities discovered six surviving cats and fifteen dead cats inside the house when they first arrived.

The deceased animals’ bodies were removed from the premises, and the six cats that were still alive were brought to the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter for treatment.

These surviving cats were checked out by a doctor right away to see how they were doing and to find out how much damage they might have incurred from living in such filthy conditions.

As stated by the Ingham County Animal Control department, they will make sure that the remaining cats get the medical treatment and care they need to get over their tragedy.

In connection with the mistreatment and disregard of the animals discovered at the house, the organization is collaborating with the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office to file criminal charges. Based on the results of the inquiry, the Prosecutor’s Office will decide what legal measures to take after receiving a formal report asking for criminal charges.

Public members are being urged by Ingham County Animal Control officers to report any suspicions of animal cruelty and to continue to be watchful for the welfare of animals.

Residents have several options to report possible instances of animal mistreatment, including a dedicated phone line (517-676-8310), an email address ([email protected]), and a website where complaints can be made, according to the authorities.
