SZA and Kendrick Lamar Confirmed for High-Profile 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

On Thursday, the NFL announced that Kendrick Lamar, a rapper and Grammy Award-winning artist, will have at least one guest during the halftime show of the 2025 Super Bowl: SZA.

The announcement was made at the same time as a lighthearted video in which SZA splashes Lamar with a blue drink, which is similar to how a team could celebrate a good win by pouring a drink on their coach.

On February 9, the two will put on a show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

This news was made only a few days after the premiere of SZA’s film “One of Them Days,” which features actress Keke Palmer.

SZA will also be joining Lamar on a North American tour that will visit 19 cities and start in April.

The two have worked together on a number of songs, such as “30 for 30,” “Luther,” “Gloria,” “All the Stars,” and “Doves in the Wind.”

Lamar and SZA are both experiencing significant career milestones. Lamar has received seven Grammy nominations this year, while SZA has received two.

Lamar’s participation at the Super Bowl will be his second time performing at the event. He previously appeared during the halftime show of Super Bowl LVI in 2022, where he was joined by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.

Lamar expressed his enthusiasm for the performance in 2025, saying in a statement, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date.” And I will be there to remind everyone why.

They picked the correct one.

The teams competing in this year’s Super Bowl are still to be determined, as the NFC title game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders will decide one of the contenders.

The Kansas City Chiefs will play against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC to see which team will earn a place in the Super Bowl.
