As the Eagles prepare to host the Washington Commanders for the NFC title game at Lincoln Financial Field, the city of Philadelphia is painted green.
Eagles pep rallies and banners encouraging this playoff run have appeared all throughout the city and the surrounding area, as the Eagles are trying to make it to the Super Bowl.
As the city of Philadelphia prepares for the Eagles, some restrictions will be implemented this weekend. You should be aware of the parking limitations and potential road closures that could impact your travel plans before, during, or after the game.
During a news conference with Mayor Cherelle Parker this week, city Managing Director Adam Thiel warned, “Stay safe, stay warm, stay hydrated – beer is not hydration.”
Here is the information you need to know.
Parking restrictions and possible street closures in Philadelphia for the Eagles-Commanders NFC final game Sunday
Beginning at noon on Saturday, there will be a no-parking zone around City Hall and throughout the South Broad Street corridor. Cars that are parked in these places within the hours that are indicated may be moved.
On Sunday, temporary parking restrictions will also be put in place around Cottman and Frankford avenues in Northeast Philadelphia.
The city advises that if you think your car has been moved, you should contact the police department in the area where you parked your car.
After the game on Sunday is over, there may be temporary traffic closures in order to keep the Sports Complex District and the area around City Hall safe for the public.
City leaders also state that the streets surrounding Center City, which are between 13th and 15th streets and Arch and Lombard streets, may be affected. They advise that delays are inevitable, and drivers should avoid certain regions by using different routes.
Frank’s Steaks & Burgers and other local businesses claim that they are prepared to deal with the increase in clients by being ready ahead of time.
“Getting all of our supplies ready. Meleke Gunaydin, an employee of Frank’s Steaks, stated, “We will ensure that we have an adequate supply of meat.” “We hope to receive more business.”
SEPTA will be adding additional Broad Street Line service for the Eagles playoff game on Sunday.
Because traffic is predicted to be heavy, it may be advisable to take SEPTA to the game or the tailgate.
On Sunday, starting at 10 a.m., SEPTA will be offering additional service on the Broad Street Line, including extra fast excursions to NRG Station from Fern Rock station.
The shuttles will continue every 10 minutes until around 2:30 p.m.
